On August 8, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun, who is in our country on a working visit.
The head of our state sincerely congratulated the guest on the successful start of the bank’s operation – a new international financial institution designed to promote formation of modern and reliable infrastructure in the Asian continent.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, established in 2015 with headquarters in Beijing is actively participating in financing 17 investment projects in various countries of the world.
On August 3, 2017, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with representatives of the country’s creative intelligentsia. At the meeting, a detailed exchange of views took place on actual issues of development of the national culture, literature and art, ways of addressing them, important tasks facing creative unions and state organizations in this direction.
The meeting, which was held in the spirit of sincere and open dialogue, was attended by the heads of chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Prime Minister, state advisers to the President, heads of complexes of the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, large companies and economic associations, banks, creative unions, leading mass media, cultural institutions, theaters and museums, prominent people in literature, art and culture, journalists. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokims of the regions and the city of Tashkent, heads of the territorial branches of the Ministry of culture, creative unions, cultural institutions at places, television and radio channels, newspapers and creative intelligentsia through a videoconference.
On July 11, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – minister of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who arrived in Tashkent on a working visit.
At the meeting, the head of our state expressed his deep respect and addressed words of welcome to the friendly Turkmen people and to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The dynamically developing and strengthening bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres were noted with great satisfaction.
It was emphasized that the first state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan in March of this year, working meetings in “Avaza” tourist zone and in the capital of Kazakhstan – Astana in May-June, as well as regular contacts between the leaders of the two countries brought cooperation of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to a qualitatively new level and ensuring practical implementation of provisions of the Treaty on strategic partnership.
On January 12 of this year in the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trades negotiations with the head of diplomatic mission of the European Union to the Republic of Uzbekistan Eduards Stiprais were held.
On January 9 at the Ministry of foreign economic relations, investments and trade was held a meeting with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan headed by Deputy foreign Minister Hekmat Karzai.
On 5 January at the Ministry of foreign economic relations, investments and trade was held talks with a Turkish delegation led by head of the Main Department for cooperation with Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, Turkish foreign Minister S. V. Altai.
